Guest Book - The Dairy
Another wonderful visit to The Dairy. Thank you Diane and Andrew for making everything so perfect. We've had a busy week which started at the delightful Masham Sheep Fair, then there was Raby Castle (wonderful gardens), a trip to Ambleside for retail therapy and finally a visit to Bowes Museum to see the LS Lowry exhibition - amazing! Can't wait to see you both at the end of the year!
So lovely to ee the number of returning guests and we will certainly be joining that elite group! It has taken us over a decade to finally make the trip to spend time with Diane and Andrew and so gad we did. The cottage lacks for nothing - even our own personal benchmark of 'egg cups' was met! Already planned our next trip back next spring. And it goes without saying we have totally fallen for this fabulous part of the UK. Long may it remain unspoilt! Huge thank you!!
Another fabulous stay at The Dairy (our 5th) and fortunate to have amazing weather. Visited our favourite places, all very accessible - Thorp Perrow, Harlow Carr and Newby Hall and Gardens. Thank you Diane and Andrew for the additional equipment making it possible to continue to enjoy such a luxurious cottage and to have the privilege of sitting in your beautiful garden is such an added bonus. Looking forward to our next stay in The Dairy.
Arrived at 26 degrees, left at 2 degrees! Good job brought all seasons clothing. Still, lots of brightness and a wonderfully relaxing stay. Tours of Newby Hall and Tennants thoroughly recommended. Thanks to Diane and Andrew for looking after us so well.
Another lovely holiday in The Dairy. Everything just as it should be! Loved Raby Castle - thanks Diane for the recommendation. Also enjoyed the Himalayan Garden - incredible place, though probably best in spring/summer when the azaleas are in bloom. Northallerton and the pub at Bullamoor good for a rainy day. Thanks again to you both for everything you do to make things so perfect.
How fortunate we have been to return to The Dairy for a week this year. A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. We were very pleased to discover there is now a tramper at Aysgarth Falls making them accessible. Hardraw Force is challenging with a manual wheelchair, but fortunately a king chap offered to push John's wheelchair, so we made it. Lunch in Askrigg and a drive over the hills to Muker and back to Hawes across Buttertubs gives wonderful views. Visited Ribblehead, Wensleydale Creamery, Tennants, Treated ourselves to a meal at the Wensleydale Heifer. The Wensleydale Ice Cream Parlour in a barn is pleasant. Explored Nidderdale and Wharfedale but Grassing very crowded and no parking. Hebden - the Old School Tea Room is far better. Many thanks to Diane & Andrew for enabling us to have this wonderful holiday.
Another lovely holiday at The Dairy, our very favourite holiday cottage. We did all our usual, favourite things and spoiled ourselves. We enjoyed days at the races at Thirsk and Catterick racecourses, days out at Skipton, Thirsk and Northallerton and enjoyed delicious meals at the Wensleydale Heifer, from Ramsay's fish and chip van, Sunday lunch at the Garden Rooms at Tennants as well as various delicious tea rooms near and far. We never run out of things to do thanks to Diane and Andrew's expertise, knowledge and recommendations and we look forward to returning soon. As always, thank you Diane and Andrew for all you do, and Rachel of course who also does an amazing job.
(poem) Wonderful walks and splendid sights, a gorgeous garden for our delight, Picture perfect in every way, such a joy on a sunny day. Swirling swift high in the sky are mesmerising to the eye. Beautiful birdsong fills the air, relax and listen, it's always there, We have had two weeks of bliss, so thank you both for all of this....Take good care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you both at Christmas.
First visit and Dairy cottage exceeded all our expectations greatly, aided by a brief spell of summer to enjoy the patio and garden. Such a wonderful relaxing space and all our accessibility needs were met. Best cottage we have stayed in! We will look forward to coming again. Thank you both for making us so welcome!
Another wonderful stay at The Dairy. Although weather was not sunny we have had a super stay. Enjoyed visits to Newby Hall, Raby Castle and a 'Behind the Scenes' tour at Tennants. Booked guided tour at Newby Hall online & also visits to Raby Castle & Tennants.
What a glorious week! The weather was perfect and the cottage was wonderful as usual. Thank you Diane and Andrew for making such a beautiful cottage available. It really is home from home. We always enjoy coming. Looking forward already to next time.
Another wonderful stay in The Dairy. It always feels like home. Thank you once again Diane and Andrew for welcoming us back and for the 'extra help'. Looking forward to coming back in December. Thank you once again.
This is a really nice 'groundhog' break - one we will be enjoying for the forseeable future. We are booked every June until 2027. That doesn't include any short breaks we can fit in. Obviously we love The Dairy and of course the Dales. Andrew and Diane are as welcoming as ever, and always able to help with any queries we have. We really look forward to these breaks and seeing Yorkshire, Andrew and Diane.
Such a lovely place to stay. Arrive stressed and leave very relaxed. The views from the terrace are lovely and the gardens so pretty. Thank you Andrew and Diane for looking after us so well. Great stay. Walks everyday. Sunshine and showers, but still most enjoyable.
So lucky to get to stay at The Dairy again - our very favourite holiday cottage. We never tire of The Dairy and the Dales. Visited all our usual haunts and tried a few news ones too. Would highly recommend Tiers and Sprinkles in Leyburn Market Place for lovely cakes and hot drinks; The Wensleydale Heifer for a special occasion; Ramsay's Fish & Chip van and The Bake-Well and Corn Mill Tea Rooms. Had a lovely evening at the village hall in West Burton for a quiz night. Thank you Diane for making the call to get us a place. Thanks to Rachel for getting The Dairy perfect for our arrival and, as always, thanks to Diane and Andrew for everything they do to provide wonderful holidays for all. Oh forgot to mention that a nip to the Brymor Ice Creamery near Jervaulx Abbey is worth it - really delicious and so many flavours to choose from and available to take away in little cartons. Kiplin Hall is a lovely day out - lovely gardens, guided tours of the house and a delicious tea room. We still have lots of recommendations to try out on our next visit thanks to all the lovely, friendly, welcoming people we meet. Diane and Andrew top of that list as always.
