Take a look at The Byre kitchen as The Dairy will have the same kitchen, with a few key differences. We are setting our kitchen designers, Grove House Furniture, the task of repeating the kitchen of The Byre but with a shopping list to support the needs of our guests.
For instance, The Byre has an integrated cupboard under the sink. In The Dairy, it will look very much the same. Except that the cupboard can easily be pulled out and removed ready for the arrival of a guest who will have the need to access the sink in a wheelchair. The wall cupboards may not appear very different in terms of height but the internal features will enable the shelf contents to be pulled down to a lower level when needed. The microwave and oven will be alongside each other rather than above each other.
The dining area will have similar solid oak furniture and with the space for wheelchairs too. All facilities, handles, light and socket switches will be at the appropriate levels and contrasted to aid visual impaired guests. The floor will be solid limestone tiles as The Byre, with a seamless level integration to the oak flooring of the lounge area.
As you can see from the floor plan the kitchen is sspread across a cooking area and a washing area, both of which will be light, spacious and open plan to the dining and lounge area.
The facilities and services in all rooms will be in line with National Accessible Standards at least M2, V1, H1, details of which are available from VisitBritain. We will be providing further detailed guidance of exactly what will be in The Dairy in due course. Alternatively, just call us to ask about your requirements, for instance .... "will The Dairy provide lights on the facilities such as phone, smoke detector and fire alarm for hard of hearing?" - Yes!
