The Dairy

Living Area - Lounge

The living and dining areas of The Dairy have a similar design, look and feel as The Byre ... with a lot more space! Be assured of the same level of quality, and with a few additional facilities.

The lounge area is light, spacious and is open plan to the kitchen and dining area. There are full length windows that overlook the private courtyard garden and the half-acre garden of Eastburn Farmhouse beyond. One of these 'windows' is also a fire exit door that also provides direct access to enjoy the patio, the garden and the views. We didn't expect to be able to once again find such a beautiful old fireplace surround languishing in a builders yard! So there is a beautiful new Yorkstone fireplace to showcase the log burning stove. The oak Karndean flooring in the lounge reflects the beautiful new oak beams above.

Relax on the Harris Tweed green sofa, edged in leather or the large winged Abraham Moon green checked armchair, both of which have matching buffets to enable you to both put your feet up for the evening to enjoy a glass (or two!) by the fire and watch the large 48" TV which has superb quality sound via the Bose sound bar. Alternatively choose from the many DVDs to watch a movie on the Blu-Ray player.  For guests who are hard of hearing, there is a portable induction loop available on request, with our compliments and the TV has subtitles, if you need them. A variety of LED lighting is provided for you to create the ambience you desire - ceiling lights controlled by dimmers to be as bright or as dark as you wish. Occasional table lamps for a touch of soft lighting and LED reading lamps to help you enjoy reading the newspaper or that interesting book you have been meaning to read.

The facilities and services in the lounge and all rooms meet the National Accessible Standards M3, V1, H1. For instance, you may not notice that all the light and socket switches are in polished chrome which contrast beautifully with the cream walls and solid oak skirting - where beauty supports accessibility! We would be delighted to discuss your own requirements to ensure you enjoy your holiday stay at The Dairy. Where guests do not need these requirements as you can see by the photos on the Accessibility page, they are just not visible. They are provided when you need them.
